What is coaching? The ICF (International Coach Federation) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. You can expect a safe environment to talk freely and be listened to without judgment and in total confidentiality. You can expect challenge and some tough questions. The more engaged, open and committed you are, the more beneficial the process will be. Coaching will give you a platform and a sounding board to figure out your way. The hard work is up to you! It is also helpful to say what coaching is not. Coaching is not counselling, mentoring or advising.

Can I book a session? To schedule a session just use my online calendar to book a free 15-minute information/intake session with no obligation. Here we can chat about coaching, your agenda and your expectations and see if we feel like a good "fit". Sometimes coaches and clients don't click, or it may not in fact be coaching that the client needs or wants. We can figure this out with a quick chat before you commit.

What are your fees? Please see my website or contact me to discuss. To get the best from coaching, I provide a package of 4 sessions. This will give you clarity, help you strategise, plan and take action. There will also be time for reflection and review to enable you to keep engaged and move forward with confidence and accountability. Aside from one-to-one sessions, I provide other services and programs. Sometimes one session is adequate (such as an interview preparation session, or figuring out whether to accept a job offer). From time-to-time other offers may be available so keep a look out on my social media pages.

What issues can be worked on in coaching?I'm tempted to say that any issues can be worked on by coaching, but that's not strictly true. Certain issues like addiction or psychological matters are not suitable for coaching. Likewise, there are some matters better dealt with by specific professionals (legal, medical etc). However, coaching can assist you in working through very many personal, career and business matters. Basically, anywhere where you feel a change is needed, or in helping you deal with change where it's not through choice (such as redundancy etc). Even if you simply have a niggling feeling of unease or uncertainty, but can't put your finger on it, coaching will help.

How many sessions will I need and how often will we need to meet? This really depends on what you want to get out of coaching. One session, or a clarity session, can be useful if you have one very specific issue to work on, or need to make a decision in a hurry, but if you have an issue which requires a more in-depth discussion, follow up sessions are essential to keep you focused and on track. I may also give you some homework to do between sessions which may require you to reflect in your personal time, or do some research, and come back to me. I recommend a package of 4 sessions and I have other more specific services too. How often we need to meet depends on the client and the agenda and can be scheduled to suit both your need and your availability. Weekly sessions can be quite intense, but useful. Monthly sessions are sometimes needed where the client has to implement changes or do some research in the interim. I do not recommend less often than monthly as some momentum may be lost. However, as with most things in life, one size does not fit all! Feel free to contact me to discuss your needs.
